If you opened up our Bylaws file, and were confused by all of the legal language, we were too! So we ran our Bylaws through Chat GBT and asked it to rewrite them in plain language terms, and here is what it says:
Article 1 — Our Offices

We keep:
- Articles of Incorporation
- Bylaws
- Minutes of meetings
- Financial records
Members may request to see certain records.
Article 11 — Work Created for the Organization
- Anything created for the organization (documents, photos, designs, etc.) belongs to the organization.
Article 12 — Conflict of Interest
- Board members and officers must disclose personal or financial conflicts.
- They cannot vote on matters where they have a conflict.
- Conflicts are recorded in the meeting minutes.
Article 13 — Money & Financial Policies
- The Board oversees all financial matters.
- The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
Article 14 — Changing These Bylaws
- The Board may amend the bylaws with approval from a majority of all directors.
Article 15 — How Meetings Are Run
- We follow the latest edition of Robert’s Rules of Order unless the bylaws say otherwise.
Article 16 — Closing the Organization
- If the organization dissolves, any remaining money must go to Dana or Correia Middle Schools or another nonprofit.
- No funds may go to individuals.
